Koh Rong Samloem
Koh Rong Samloem
Koh Rong Samloem (Rong Samloem Island) is the most well-known island of Sihanoukville, which has lots of insects, is an exciting destination for nature loves and wildlife spotters, and an excellent choice for a relaxed weeked, too. Among the best beaches in Sihanoukville, there are three lovely yellow sandy beaches shaded by pine trees that make for excellent snorkeling on the island and its coral reefs.
If you are feeling adventurous and would like to do a bit of wildlife-spotting, the best choice is the Rong Sanloem Island. It takes less than an hour to get to one of the three yellow sandy beaches surrounded by pine trees; from there, we can trek into the jungle where you can view more than 100 species of birds as well their fill, and can see giant mussels that are not found at the other island.
Overview
Koh Rong Samloem Island is about 40km off the coast of Sihanoukville. Actually, the island is deserted, undeveloped and untouched. It's a secret island. The island is certainly the most beautiful island of the Kompong Som Region. A snowdrift bay, covered by a crystal clear and turquoise water, stretches on several kilometers. At the center, a jungle with thousands of coconut palms and waterfalls invade the island.
